Bellybutton Sportspeople |
Here is one way!
Setup a booth at Maker Faire and ask people to post questions that they have about the bellybutton. Or answer a question someone else has posted.
Offer to take pictures of people's bellybuttons.
Collect stories, audio and video of whatever people want to offer about their bellybuttons and be woah aware of whatever else might come up.
Let it take its shape as defined by what people offer, including stories of why maybe they don't want to.
Always record kids with their parent's permission.
Never record anyone without their permission. Kids being prodded by a parent are not giving their permission. This is a fine opportunity for kids to exhibit agency around their bodies and say no with no explanation required, just like adults. This is all done in good fun.
I hope to learn why we don't have bellybuttons on our noses. Surely somebody this weekend can fill me in.
I will post everything provided at Maker Faire for this pop-up museum here on this blog. Feel free to jump in and continue to provide answers, insights, questions, pictures, stories!
Bellybuttons could be so fascinating that many people create their own bellybutton museums with their own flavor. And then what do we have? A museum of bellybutton museums!
